Perennial cover crop considered to be an excellent vitamin and mineral supplement, especially so when combined with Alfalfa or other legumes. Grazing animals prefer this grass due to its higher sugar content that makes it sweeter than most other temperate grasses. Grows up to 42” height, with a distinctive tufted triangular flowerhead. Requires well-drained, moderately acidic to moderately alkaline soil. Fast growing and matures early, commonly found in clumps. Cures well as hay, but is also excellent forage.
